    FAQ
    • Is every advertised training programme genuinely accredited?
Classify each offering as an accredited qualification, skills programme or unaccredited short course. Match marketing claims to the NQF record, provider approval, delivery site and approved mode, and verify that accreditation covers what learners actually receive.
    • How should I verify QCTO accreditation?
Check the provider directly in the QCTO database, then match qualification codes, sites, delivery methods, conditions and expiry dates. Ask QCTO what the proposed ownership or entity change requires before treating accreditation as a transferable asset.
    • Does the provider also need DHET registration?
Determine which qualifications and institutional type the business offers. Confirm its registration status with DHET where applicable, rather than assuming QCTO or Umalusi accreditation replaces state registration, and investigate any programmes operated under another provider's approval.
    • Are learner records sufficient for certification?
Sample enrolment, identity, attendance, workplace evidence, assessments, moderation, results and certificate records. Reconcile learners awaiting certification, appeals and complaints, and confirm the management system can produce the reports required by the relevant quality council or funder.
    • How reliable is funded training revenue?
Review SETA, employer and public contracts for approved learners, milestones, evidence requirements, payment timing, clawbacks and assignment. Match claims to attendance and completion records, and exclude disputed or unverified amounts from working capital and maintainable earnings.
    • What drives sustainable profit for a training provider?
Calculate margin by programme after facilitators, assessors, moderators, venues, materials, travel, certification and learner support. Adjust for owner delivery, underused cohorts and delayed grants, then test customer concentration and the pipeline beyond current funded contracts.
